To whom it may concern:
Subject: International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations as applied to Power Battery's series of maintenance free rechargeable sealed lead acid batteries, (VRLA) as listed on the chart here-in. We hereby certify that all Power Battery series of rechargeable sealed lead acid batteries (VRLA) as listed on the chart conform to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations UN 2800 classification as "Batteries wet, nonspillable, electric storage". All our sealed lead acid batteries are unregulated by the DOT (USA) for transportation by truck, rail, ocean & air transportation because they meet the requirements of 49 CFR 173.159 (d) and must be labeled "Nonspillable" or "Nonspillable Battery".
We further certified that under IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, 41st edition, Jan. 2000 - UN2800, Power Battery's batteries as listed on the chart are unregulated for air transportation because they meet the requirements of special provision "A67" as promulgated by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Association (ICAO) classifying them as non-dangerous goods for transportation on both cargo and passenger aircraft. They also meet the vibration and pressure differential tests of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations. Provision "A67" Non-spillable batteries are not subject to these regulations if, at a temperature of 55 °C (130 °F), the electrolyte will not flow from a ruptured or cracked case and there is no free liquid to flow and if, when packaged for transport, the terminals are protected from short circuit and movement that could lead to short-circuiting.
